Hello! This is my first time blogging, bare with me, but I am interested in seeing where it goes! I became interested in interior design in high school, and now I work at  a restaurant where we do caterings for Furniture Market. Being in High Point during Furniture Market I got a chance to be around showrooms with all the different designs/fabrics, which sparked back up my interest for design. With tons of support from family and friends, I am in school doing what I truly enjoy. I'm in my first year in the Interior Design program at Randolph Community College and am loving it so far! The instructors and my classmates are amazing people who encourage and challenge me everyday.

I started Fall 2012, and one of my favorite classes was drafting. During drafting we learned everything from what lead to use to completing a full construction document. It taught us to be precise with everything from one line to a finished floor plan. This semester (Spring 2013) so far is a lot! I think this semester we're already learning so much, I'm excited to see how it goes. One of the classes I'm taking is AutoCAD, this class is a multimedia class where we will learn AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch-Up, and Podium. Technology grows everyday and I'm looking forward to learning all of these programs. We are also taking a graphic presentation class where so far we are learning to sketch so by the end of the semester we can sketch a specific living room, pick out furniture/finishes, and color render it. I haven't gotten the sketching by hand down yet, but still working on it! Wish me luck! Those are a couple of classes I'm taking right now, I'll keep you posted on how they are going and inform you of other great classes I'm taking.

I don't know if Ive absolutely chosen my style in design yet, because I like so much. But so far, Ive noticed I gravitate to neutral and organic colors more than anything. I love modern styled homes, but also love traditional at times too. So, as of now I'm learning so much and will be open minded in finding out what my true design style is. I hope you'll enjoy my post and will continue to follow me in my journey here!
